Egyptisk el till Gaza efter 2 år. I huvudsak Israels fel.

HAMAS och TT BLAMES ISRAEL FOR GAZA TUNNEL ATTACK; REPORT CLAIMS IT WAS EGYPT
BYJPOST.COM STAFF

The Hamas Health Ministry said two people were killed in the incident.

However, a report released hours later by the Institute for National Security Studies said later on that the Egyptian Army was actually at fault for carrying out the attack.

Earlier in the week, on Monday, the IDF struck several Hamas targets following an early morning rocket attack and late afternoon gunfire from Gaza directed at troops.

Palestinian sources in Gaza reported a large strike in central Gaza Strip, saying the Israel Air Force had hit a Hamas target in Shuja’iyya and that renewed artillery fire targeted Hamas outposts in the central Strip.

Several hours earlier, IDF artillery shelled several Hamas targets in response to earlier gunfire targeting troops working on the Gaza border fence near Kissufim.

According to Palestinian reports, the IDF fired at two Hamas positions east of Deir el-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

Egypt helped extinguish fire in Israel: MENA

Ahram Online , Sunday 27 Nov 2016

Egypt provided assistance to Israel in extinguishing a major fire that broke out Tuesday and spread in several parts of the country, an Egyptian government source told official state news agency MENA on Sunday.
The source said that Egyptian assistance in firefighting operations was to “minimise the impact [of the fire] on people.”
There has been no official confirmation from Egyptian authorities that the country had provided help in putting out the fire.
The blaze spread through much of Israel, starting in Neve Shalom, the Judean Hills and Zichron Yaakov, a town just south of the major city of Haifa, forcing thousands to evacuate their homes, according to Israeli media reports.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Friday that Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority assisted in firefighting efforts.
Other countries that provided assistance include the US and Turkey.

Andra länder: Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Croatia, Russia, and the Palestinian Authority have sent planes, helicopters, trucks, and ground crews to assist the some 250 Israeli firefighters and soldiers who have been working for days to extinguish fires in areas surrounding Beit Shemesh, Modi'in, and Jerusalem, as well as in Haifa,

WATCH: Egyptian TV Host Calls Hillary Clinton ‘Old Bag’ Responsible for Arab Spring

Egyptian TV host Mohamed Al-Ghiety called out Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton referring to her as an “old bag.”

He said she’s a hypocrite who’s responsible for the wars that have gripped the Middle East.

Al-Ghiety questioned Clinton’s taking credit for saving Libya when America took down Muammar Gaddafi.

Some say that the Obama administration has made all the wrong choices in its handling of the “Arab Spring” by intervening in countries like Libya while ignoring ongoing crises in Egypt, Iran, and Syria.

Watch this video to see an Arab TV host spelling out the brutal mistakes former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton committed under Obama’s watch.

US mulls hitting ISIS for EgyptAir bombing

(Obs - DEBkA-artikel så försvinner snabbt)

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report May 22, 2016, 10:17 PM (IDT)

A special team set up by ISIS in its Syrian capital Raqqa planned the downing of EgyptAir Flight 804 from Paris to Cairo, which took the lives of 66 passengers and crew, DEBKAfile’s intelligence and counterterrorism sources say in an exclusive report.
The information that an ISIS team ploting terrorist attacks has been operating in Raqqa for several weeks was known to American intelligence and counterterrorism services even before the downing of the Egyptian airliner, and warnings containing the information were sent to several Western European capitals, including Paris.
The warnings said ISIS is prepare a series of large-scale attacks in main European cities and airports with the start of the summer travel season.
That is the main reason why both Paris and Cairo said the plane was downed by an act of terror on May 19 as soon as it became clear that the airliner had crashed into the Mediterranean 288 kilometers north of Alexandria, even before the debris was found.
Our sources report that the US has decided to maintain its original plan, prepared before the downing of Flight 804, to impose a siege on Raqqa in an attempt to prevent terror cells from leaving the city and carrying out attacks.
On Saturday, May 21, US Army Gen. Joseph Votel, the commander of American forces in the Middle East, made a secret visit to Syria, the first of its kind by a senior US officer since the Syrian civil war began in 2011. Votel, who recently assumed command, visited Kurdish YPG militia forces and the US special forces troops at Rmelan airbase located 288 kilometers northeast of Raqqa. The American force is equipped with AH-64 Apache attack helicopters capable of attacking Raqqa within a relatively short period of time.
The purpose of Gen. Votel’s visit was to look into the viability of a US-Kurdish strike in retaliation for the downing of the Egyptian plane. It should be assumed that US President Barack Obama will need to make a decision on the operation in the coming hours.
Over the weekend, ISIS, which is aware of the American plans, enabled citizens to leave Raqqa if they wished to do so. ISIS does not want to have to worry about the civilian population if there is a US-Kurdish attack or siege.
In the meantime, Washington and Cairo are stalling for time while considering their options.

That is the reason why US and Egyptian officials, and even Egyptian PresidentAbdel Fattah al-Sisi, continued to claim on May 22 that more time is needed to determine the cause of the crash.
It was also the reason why, soon after the air disaster, it was claimed that there was no distress call or any other message regarding a problem with the plane.
But two days after the crash, on May 21, following the recovery of debris and parts of the bodies of the passengers, there were suddenly reports that they signals from the plane of smoke in two places in the aircraft.
Investigators say it is still not clear what caused the smoke, whether a fire or fires broke out on the plane, or whether the fire eventually caused the crash, but al the signs point to an internal explosion.
DEBKAfile sources report that both Paris and Cairo believe that the crash was caused by a new type of small time bomb, or several of them, that were smuggled into the plane and planted by Charles de Gaulle airport workers loyal to ISIS.
The sources point out that ISIS explosives experts specialize in building very small devices that can be smuggled onto planes. A device within a Coca-Cola can downed a Russian Airbus A321 over the Sinai Peninsula on October 31, killing all 224 passengers and crew.
Our sources also report that investigators of the latest crash believe that just as ISIS blew up the Russian plane in retaliation for Moscow’s intervention in Syria, the downing of the Egyptian plane is linked to the entry by Egyptian special forces into Libya during the last few weeks to take action against ISIS forces.
DEBKAfile’s military sources report that an Egyptian special force is operating with a US elite units against ISIS targets in eastern Libya near the port city of Tobruk.

Burka fördöms i Egypten, uppmuntras i Sverige.

Burka fördöms i Egypten, uppmuntras i Sverige. Finns nån organisation här mot burka?

Lobby group “Ban the Burka” has announced some progress in the achievement of its goals, signing a memorandum with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail concerning the banning of the niqab in state institutions.
Ban the Burka, which is a collaboration between the campaign groups “No to religious political parties” and the Egyptian Feminist Union, seeks to phase out the wearing of the niqab in Egypt.
Led by Dr Hoda Bodran and Dr Gaber Nassar, principal of Cairo University, the memorandum calls for a decision from the prime minister, focusing in particular on educational institutions. The group is calling on the government to prohibit the niqab in 51 universities around the country.
In a statement to Al-Masry al-Youm, lobby group co-ordinator Mohamed Attia affirmed that the banning of the niqab in public institutions is in the interests of everyone.
He said that a number of niqab wearers are in favour of the campaign. Attia gave the example of Mrs Abdul Jalil, a straighforward woman with no political inclinations, who herself wears the niqab in public, but who objects to the wearing of the niqab in universties.
One aim of the lobby group, said Attia, is to prevent extremists from instilling their ideology unilaterally by imposing the niqab on society. The group aims to prevent any attempts to present the niqab as a religious obligation, pointing out that such a notion conflicts with the views and fatwas of various religious scholars.
He went on, “The government has an ongoing right to enforce laws to protect the lives of its citizens. We will strive to oppose malicious attempts to impose control on the nation and its people.”
He stressed the group’s firm belief that the modernization of religion requires a rigorous debate of viewpoints to establish truth, amid the minefield of interpretations of religion in society.
“Reason and debate are the way forward,” he concluded.

Samarbetet Israel. Qatar, Hamas, Egypten.

Ya’alon counts on the Qatari envoy for solving Hamas tunnel problemara
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report February 9, 2016, 2:33 PM (IDT)

01:07
01:07

Qatari envoy Mohammed Al-Emadi with Hamas PM Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza
Few Israelis, including the people who wake up at night to the clatter of Palestinians in Gaza digging tunnels under their floors, have never heard of Mohammed Al-Emadi. But his importance to their lives cannot be overestimated, because, as DEBKAfile reveals here, he is the Persian Gulf Emirate of Qatar’s de facto ambassador to the Gaza Strip and to Israel.
He is moreover Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon’s secret weapon against Hamas’s terror tunnels.
On Monday, Feb.8, Education Minister Naftali Bennett was reported as urging an immediate attack on the Hamas tunnels during a recent security cabinet meeting, of which he is a member.
The next morning, the defense minister furiously dismissed his colleague’s demands as “reckless, childish and irresponsible” and accused him of potentially dragging the country into war from cynical motives. “War isn’t child’s play and it costs human lives,” Ya’alon said.
It is not DEBKAfile’s business to defend Minister Bennett. He manages this very well by himself. Our concern is to explain that Ya’alon’s unwillingness to go into action against the Hamas tunnels is not down to the IDF’s inability to handle the mission, but to the new element in the Israel-Hamas equation:  His cooperation with the Qatari ambassador, who has set up an office in Gaza City. This office has become the nerve center between two Palestinian organizations, Hamas and Jihad Islami, and Israel’s defense authorities.
The Qatari envoy’s office processes every message passing between Gaza and Tel Aviv.
For example, after the popular uproar in Israel over the terror tunnels, Israeli media carried reports that Hamas and Islamic Jihad had sent messages to assure Israel that they had no intention of launching a fresh round of warfare.
That message, carried secretly by the Qatari envoy, had two sections that were not published:
The two Palestinian groups asked Israel not to misunderstand their military actions in Gaza because, it was claimed,  they were defensive not offensive.
Hamas and the Islamic Jihad also asked Israel to intercede on their behalf with Egyptian President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi to ease his closure on the Rafah border town, part of Cairo’s tough crackdown on the two terrorist groups.
Israel did not respond directly. But on, Monday, Feb. 8, in an interview to the Saudi website “Elaf”, IDF Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordecai accused Hamas of treating in Gaza hospitals ISIS-affiliated terrorists who had been injured in Sinai attacks on Egyptian troops and police officers.
He revealed that, on the orders of the Hamas military wing, Ezzadin al-Qassem Brigades, those ISIS casualties were transferred to the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younes through secret tunnels.
Gen. Mordecai’s implied message was this: First stop giving ISIS terrorists medical care, then we may consider putting in a word for you in Cairo.
But according, to DEBKAfile  counterterrorism sources, the general held back on two even more serious aspects of Hamas’s secret collusion with Egypt’s archenemy in Sinai.
First, he omitted mention of the flow of Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters to Sinai, where they were reinforcing the ISIS affiliate against Egypt.
Second, he said nothing about the Hamas-Islamic Jihad’s clandestine deals for the smuggling of weapons through Sinai into the Gaza Strip, often from Libya.

The Qatari envoy is not just brokering messages between Israel and Gaza. Essential goods in large quantities, including fuel and building materials, are being regularly trucked into the Gaza Strip from Israel. Each consignment must first obtain a stamp of approval from Al-Emadi’s office.
Israel accepted this procedure for three reasons:
1. Its defense authorities and the IDF trust the Qatari envoy’s good judgment on the choice of items for delivery.
2. His office, as designated representative of the Emirate of Qatar, is responsible for payment for the goods ordered on the shopping lists its office relays to Tel Aviv. Some Israeli factories are now exclusively producing goods on those lists, confident that payment by the emirate is guaranteed.
3. A copy of those shopping lists is also sent to Cairo. This enables Qatar to keep the Israeli and Egyptian military authorities in full coordination and abreast of events in Gaza.
At the same time, Al-Emadi stays clear of the two Palestinian groups’ military affairs, such as their infiltration tunnels and missiles. New pictures appearing on Gaza social media in the last few days show the Qatari ambassador visiting a tunnel, apparently to find out at first hand what the uproar in Israel was about.
Finally, the importance can’t be overstated of seriously debating the defense minister’s Gaza policy and the wisdom of reposing so much trust in the Gulf emirate, whose wider interests transcend the Israel-Palestinian sphere and include backing for Syrian rebel groups, some of them Islamic extremist terrorists.
Qatar’s interests also touch on additional fronts of Palestinian terror, as well as the Syrian conflict, Iran’s military intervention in Syria and Hizballah’s role.
The average Israel has begun gaining the impression that the defense minister has no answer for addressing the country’s multiple security threats, other than handing out economic incentives for inducing its many enemies to refrain from hostilities.
Moshe Ya’alon can only blame his own rhetoric for this image. A statement he made in October 2014 marked a turning-point in Israel’s military history. “Hizballah now has 100,000 missiles in Lebanon, and we are not taking action to destroy them. There are hundreds of missiles in Iran, and we are not making a decision to destroy them,” is what he said at the time. The minister has being making comments in the same vein every since. Dismissing as “reckless and childish” ideas that differ from his passive approach for dealing with the Hamas tunnels, the threats from Syria and the current wave of Palestinian terror, is no answer. Shutting down the debate on these vital issues is more dangerous than airing it.

Egyptian Air Force jets enter Gaza airspace in bombing raids

The Egyptian Air Force (EAF) began intensive bombardment near the Gaza Strip this morning in the area surrounding the Egyptian town of Rafah. According to Palestinian media reports EAF planes entered into the airspace of Gaza itself.
The target of the air raids are positions belonging to ISIS's Egypt branch, known as "Sinai Province." Arabic language Sky News reported 15 fatalities thus far due to the bombings.
Hamas at times helps ISIS supporters in the Sinai Peninsula by supplying them with weapons and supplies smuggled out of the strip. Reports of bombings within the strip itself have increased tensions between Egypt and Hamas.
Recently Egypt has been flooding the smuggling tunnels that Hamas has set up connecting the strip to Sinai, causing the tunnels to collapse while killing the Hamas operatives inside. Last week a high ranking Hamas operative,Abed al Rahman Salah al Mubashar, who was one of the kidnappers of Gilad Schalit, was killed in a tunnel collapse due to flooding.
Continued Egyptian bombardment and floodings threaten the drinking water reserves of those in the strip, which are already in danger of salt contamination due to overuse. Tensions spiked on Friday when a Palestinian teen was shot to death after swimming across the border into the Sinai peninsula.
Hamas is very limited with regards to making any sort of response against the Egyptian Air Force. While Hamas does have a supply of shoulder mounted anti-aircraft missiles, it is unlikely that they would risk a direct confrontation with Egypt that would result from a direct attack on an Egyptian fighter jet.
