Police Bust Arab Brothers Planning Terror Attack in Jerusalem
Gag order lifted as indictment filed against two brothers from eastern Jerusalem, who planned attack in capital for Hamas.

A police gag order was released revealing that the Jerusalem district attorney on Monday submitted an indictment against two Arab brothers from eastern Jerusalem, who were arrested for planning a terrorist attack for Hamas in the capital.
The brothers, 28-year-old Shaban bin Ahmed Hamad and 23-year-old Mohammed bin Ahmed Hamad, were accused of membership in a terrorist organization, recruiting for a terrorist organization, contact with foreign agents, connecting themselves to crimes, disrupting legal proceedings and destroying evidence.
According to the indictment, Shaban agreed to the request of a Hamas terrorist from Gaza and joined the organization, afterwards recruiting his brother. The two later tried to recruit a third member to form a terror cell. The two brothers have a criminal history of security related crimes.
Roughly two months ago Shaban was contacted via Facebook by a Hamas activist, reveals the indictment, and after the initial contact a book together with a letter from a Hamas terrorist who previously was in jail with Shaban was sent to him.
The letter proposed that Shaban join Hamas in the Jerusalem region, to which he agreed. Afterwards another book was sent to him with a disc and a page of instructions, asking him to purchase a computer and remove all the communication devices inside it, then insert the disc and launch an encoding program, and only afterwards open a document on the disc.
At his home Shaban followed the instructions, and opened the file which itself contained more instructions, telling him to contact a man named "Abu Mohammed" at a provided telephone number and receive 100,000 shekels (over $25,000) from him to fund the terror cell.
After receiving the money, the instructions detailed that Shaban was to contact an additional source to acquire weapons for conducting an attack.
Days later Shaban asked his brother Ahmed to join him, and then asked a friend to likewise join. The friend refused and reportedly told Shaban not to get involved. The two contacted another man in trying to acquire the weapons, saying they had the 100,000 shekels to fund the cell.
Shaban was arrested around a month ago at night, at which his brother immediately destroyed the discs and documents, broke apart the computer's hard drive and hide it in the computer's fan.
A string of indictments
The arrest of the brothers comes roughly a month after an indictment was filed against Akhram Joda, a Hamas terrorist who served as an electrician for Hamas and was responsible for the electricity system in the terror tunnels into Israel built to attack Israeli civilians.
Hamas has been busily rebuilding those terror tunnels in recent months, since the truce that ended Operation Protective Edge in August.
Joda also took part in construction engines to power the digging of terror tunnels, and likewise help create rockets and explosives.
Mere days after the indictment on Joda, an indictment was similarly submitted against Amar Nabahin, a Hamas member and resident of Gaza.
Nabahin was accused of putting up Hamas terrorists in his home during Operation Protective Edge, and allowing them to use his house as a base of activities in attacking IDF forces.
When the IAF bombed Nabahin's house, the Hamas terrorists who had been residing there moved to Nabahin's uncle's home, located adjacent to his house.
