Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu loves maps. Considering them a helpful tool to illustrate his view of global affairs, he often brings them along to public speeches, to briefings with the press and to hearings in the Knesset.

“May I reveal to the members of the press that there is a big map in my office, and it’s been made bigger,” he said last week during a meeting with Paraguayan President Horacio Cartes in Jerusalem. “It used to be the Middle East. Now it encompasses a good chunk of the Eastern hemisphere.”

The map of the world Netanyahu brandished Monday at the Knesset State Control Committee, where he defended his foreign policy record, offers some valuable insights into his view of Israel’s place among the family of nations. (A quarter-century ago, as he was rising to become the leader of the then-Likud opposition, Netanyahu published a book entitled, “A Place Among the Nations: Israel in the World.”)

The map, a copy of which was made available to The Times of Israel, is meant to highlight positive trends in Israel’s foreign relations. It divides the world’s countries into different categories: those with which Jerusalem has “recently developed/upgraded” relations are marked in red; states that entertain “good relations” with Israel are in blue; and “overtly hostile enemy states” are in black. With the rest of the world, in green, “Israel does not have special relations,” according to the prime minister’s aides, who created the map especially for Monday’s Knesset session.

The prime minister is widely regarded as having a fairly bleak outlook when it comes to the international community’s relations with Israel, or perhaps more accurately as regards the dependability of certain allies, but his new map actually belies this. Drawn up for the specific political purpose of asserting that global ties are flourishing under the current foreign minister (Netanyahu), the multi-colored message, overall, is that Israel has lots and lots and lots of friends. And, most remarkably, that even among those nations that might think of themselves as deeply hostile to the Jewish state, only very few are deemed to merit the black mark of a real enemy.

A map of the world indicating the status of Israel’s foreign relations, as presented to the Knesset by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on July 25, 2016)

The countries in red are those the prime minister sought to highlight as they ostensibly prove the success of his foreign policy. Those eye-catching red patches indicate improved ties with diplomatic and economic powerhouses such as Japan, China, Russia, South Korea, Singapore and India; increasing cooperation with Greece and Cyprus; normalization with Turkey; and robust ties with Azerbaijan, which Netanyahu plans to visit soon. A striking omission from this category is Egypt, which the map shows in green despite a noticeable rapprochement between Cairo and Jerusalem.

Ten countries in Africa are colored red: Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, (states Netanyahu visited earlier this month) Tanzania (which recently announced its intention to open its first-ever embassy in Israel), Guinea (which last week re-established diplomatic ties with Jerusalem after a 49-year hiatus), Chad (where Foreign Ministry director-general Dore Gold visited last week), South Sudan, Zambia and Ivory Coast.

In August 2015, Netanyahu declared Latin America to be “one of the main objectives of the State of Israel in the context of its efforts to develop markets that will contribute to increasing economic growth.” As things stand, on his map, only three countries there are marked red: Colombia, Paraguay and Argentina.

Brazil, the world’s seventh largest economy — with which Israel seeks to further develop commercial ties, but with which it had a diplomatic falling out over the aborted appointment of ex-settler leader Dani Dayan — appears in green, signifying the absence of “special relations.”

Mexico, Chile, Panama and South Africa — countries that have full diplomatic ties with Israel and significant Jewish communities — are likewise in green.

There are plenty of obvious and some interesting inclusions among the countries colored blue on Netanyahu’s map, signaling “good relations” with Israel: The United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand (despite a recent diplomatic spat) and all of Europe — East and West — despite ongoing tension over the European Union’s critical approach to Israeli policies vis-a-vis the Palestinians and other differences.

But two European countries are singled out as a little less friendly than the others: Sweden and Ireland appear in light blue, illustrating their particularly critical attitudes toward Israel. Sweden is the only Western European nation that recognized a Palestinian state, but what Ireland did to deserve a lighter shade of blue than similarly pro-Palestinian EU member states is somewhat unclear. (Denmark is also in light blue but this appears to be a technical error).

“Today Israel is perceived more and more as an asset and an influencing element in the world because of our war on terror and our technological achievements,” Netanyahu told the State Control Committee on Monday.

”We have achieved free trade with China, a 30 percent increase in trade with India, an agreement with Japan on protecting rigs, military coordination with Russia, initial ties with a host of African countries, heads of state visiting Israel for the first time, the normalization of ties with Turkey, and every week I meet with four heads of state. Israel’s foreign policy is a great success,” he declared.

A map Netanyahu showed the 2015 AIPAC summit in Washington, DC, to illustrate Iran’s ‘tentacles of terror’

And what about those countries that do not perceive Israel as an asset and a positive influence?

On his map, which he waved around several times during Monday’s two-hour session, only five countries are colored in black, thus identified as enemy states: Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and North Korea. (Lebanon’s status is indiscernible). Perhaps most instructive about this category is those nations it does not include: Yemen, Saudi Arabia (both countries Israelis are forbidden by law from entering), Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Sudan, Pakistan, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Indonesia, Cuba, Venezuela and other states with which Israel does not have diplomatic ties.

Thus one conclusion students of Netanyahu’s map might be forgiven for drawing is this: Israel has plenty of friends in the world — about 30 old friends, 20 new friends, countless potential future friends — and very, very few enemies.

Ten Reasons Why Friends of Israel Should Vote Trump

The two major political conventions of 2016, now completed, raised many questions relating to the proper response to Islamic extremism and terrorism, spoken about extensively at the RNC, but almost ignored at the DNC. Furthermore, there were harsh charges of anti-Semitism thrown back and forth, as well as lingering questions about which party would be better for the U.S.-Israel relationship. Admittedly, there have been many doubters about Donald J. Trump, a political novice who achieved great success in the world of business, but from the biblical heartland of Israel, the answer is clear. Take note of the following facts, broken down into ten succinct reasons why American friends of Israel should vote for the GOP candidate to be the next President:

1. Donald Trump has pledged to move the American Embassy to Israel’s capital, Jerusalem.

2. Trump has expressed support for Israel’s right to grant building permits for its citizens in Jerusalem, its capital city.

3. Trump has expressed support for Israel’s right to grant building permits for its citizens in its historical, biblical heartland, Judea and Samaria (the so-called West Bank).

4. Trump has been a consistent and strong opponent of the dangerous Iran nuclear deal, which the Obama administration signed and which Hillary Clinton strongly supported, along with most of the Democrats in Congress.

5. According to a recent Pew Research Center poll, “There continue to be stark partisan differences in Middle East sympathies. Conservative Republicans maintain strong support for Israel with fully 75% saying they sympathize with Israel compared with just 2% who sympathize with the Palestinians. By contrast, liberal Democrats are much more divided: 33% sympathize more with Israel, 22% with the Palestinians.”

6. A Trump administration is likely to consist of consistently and unquestionably strong, passionate friends of Israel, such as former Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and Dr. Ben Carson. All of them share the strong pro-Israel po‎sitions cited above.

7. Trump’s running mate, Gov. (and former U.S. Congressman) Mike Pence, has been a strong and consistent supporter of Israel. He, too, shares the strong pro-Israel po‎sitions cited above.

8. The Influence of Family: Trump’s daughter Ivanka, with whom the candidate is very close, is a convert to Judaism, her husband is Jewish, and Trump has three Jewish grandchildren who attend a strongly pro-Israel Orthodox synagogue with their parents.

9. Hillary Clinton, during her term as Secretary of State, was harshly critical of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, most notably in her infamously stern 45 minute telephone reprimand, the details of which her State Department quickly publicized after Israel announced that building permits were granted for 900 apartment units in Jerusalem, Israel’s capital.

10. A President Hillary Clinton is likely to be surrounded by strongly anti-Israel politicians from her Democratic Party, the platform of which explicitly supports the establishment of “Palestinian statehood” in the biblical heartland of Israel. On the other hand, the GOP platform pointedly does not mention the possibly of a Palestinian state - which would be based on the dangerous land for peace formula that failed so miserably in Gaza, bringing rampant Palestinian Islamic terrorism on Israel’s civilian population.

Last, but not least, unlike Hillary, who has consistently minimized the danger, Donald Trump truly comprehends the existential threat of Islamic terrorism to the free world and has made it abundantly clear, not just that he will ruthlessly destroy ISIS, but that he will turn to the experience and common sense of America’s ally, Israel, as a trusted adviser in that struggle.

The danger to Israel of a Clinton victory is clear, while the prospect of a Trump administration bodes well for the flourishing of the U.S.-Israel relationship. All American friends of Israel, as well as American-Israelis should spread this message to all doubters. I am absolutely certain that Trump is, far and away, the better candidate for Israel.

It Wasn’t Just Sid: Torrent of Anti-Israel Advice Found in Hillary’s Emails

Server dump reveals Clinton confidants attacking Jewish state, condemning Netanyahu and plotting against Israel
By Rabbi Shmuley Boteach • 02/04/16 10:00am

Earlier this week, I wrote about Hillary Clinton’s interactions with Sid Blumenthal and her troubling praise of his son Max Blumenthal’s anti-Israel agenda. Mr. Blumenthal Sr., one of her most trusted advisers, sent her dozens of anti-Israel articles, ideas and advice during her time as Secretary of State. But the stream of anti-Israel advice received by Ms. Clinton was much more comprehensive. Now, we see emails between Ms. Clinton and other advisors and the results are equally appalling.

In the entire forced dump of her emails, you will be hard-pressed to find a single note that is sympathetic toward the Jewish state from any of the people she trusted. The negative, poisonous approach Ms. Clinton established demonstrates that a huge segment of her close advisers and confidants were attacking Israel, condemning Prime Minister Netanyahu, and strategizing how to force Israel to withdraw from Judea and Samaria at all costs.

This was occurring in the backdrop of Israel’s recent Gaza withdrawal, which led to the takeover of the Strip by Hamas. There is almost zero mention of the huge risks to Israel’s security in withdrawing, as Ms. Clinton and the Obama Administration did everything they could to pressure Israel to capitulate to their demands.

Take a look at a sampling of the advice sent to Ms. Clinton from her many advisers, to which we have now become privy.

‘There would also be a certain shaming effect re Israelis, who would be building settlements in the face of a pledge for peace.’

Sandy Berger was Ms. Clinton’s foreign policy adviser during her 2008 presidential campaign, and had some choice advice in September 2010 when he sent Ms. Clinton ideas on how to pressure Israel to make concessions for peace. Mr. Berger acknowledged “how fragile Abbas’ political position [is],” and how “Palestinians are in disarray” and that “[f]ailure is a real possibility.” Mr. Berger was well aware, and informed Ms. Clinton, of the very real possibility that Israel would be placing its national security at grave risk in a deal that would very likely fail and lead to a Hamas takeover. But Mr. Berger felt the risks to Israeli lives were worth it. He advised making Mr. Netanyahu feel “uneasy about incurring our displeasure.”

Mr. Berger emphasized the need “to convince the prime minister—through various forms of overt persuasion and implicit pressure—to make the necessary compromises” and talked of the “possibility—to turn his position against him.”

Astoundingly, Mr. Berger seemed to accuse the Jews in America of racism toward Obama. “At a political level, the past year has clearly demonstrated the degree to which the U.S. has been hamstrung by its low ratings in Israel and among important segments of the domestic Jewish constituency,” he writes. “Domestically, he faces a reservoir of skepticism on this issue which reflects many factors, including inexcusable prejudice.”

Anne Marie Slaughter was Ms. Clinton’s director of policy planning from 2009 to 2011. She wrote Ms. Clinton in September 2010, devising a scheme to encourage wealthy philanthropists to pledge millions to the Palestinians (which no doubt would have been embezzled by Abbas and his cronies, as were other funds).

Mr. Pickering felt this extreme risk was worth taking, even if it meant violence breaking out across the West Bank, leading to a third intifada and the murder of countless Jews.

Ms. Slaughter writes, “This may be a crazy idea… Suppose we launched a ‘Pledge for Palestine’ campaign… Such a campaign among billionaires/multimillionaires around the world would reflect a strong vote of confidence in the building of a Palestinian state.”

She adds, “There would also be a certain shaming effect re Israelis, who would be building settlements in the face of a pledge for peace.”

Ms. Clinton responded: “I am very interested-pls flesh out. Thx.”

Robert Russo, one of Ms. Clinton’s aides and currently her campaign’s director of correspondence and briefings, sent an email in April 2012 informing Ms. Clinton of Mr. Netanyahu’s father’s passing, advising her to give him a condolence call. Included with Mr. Russo’s email is an extremely biased article attacking both Mr. Netanyahu and his father—describing them as virulently racist warmongers, and calling the elder Mr. Netanyahu “a behind-the-scenes adviser to his son, the most powerful person in Israel.”

The article notes, “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeatedly denied that his father was a one-dimensional ideologue. He further emphasized that he himself was a different person from his father.” But then it goes on to say, without providing any proof whatsoever, “Israelis seemed in the dark about the extent of paternal influence on their leader,” and “to understand Bibi, you have to understand the father.”

One might be forgiven if they were to question the sympathy and sincerity when Ms. Clinton later placed the call and gave Mr. Netanyahu her condolences.

Thomas Pickering, former U.S. ambassador to Israel wrote Ms. Clinton on December 18, 2011, suggesting a secret plan to stir up major Palestinian protests in an attempt to force the Israeli government into peace negotiations. He stated that the protests “must be all and only women. Why? On the Palestinian side the male culture is to use force.”

Mr. Pickering’s goal was to ignite protests that would engulf the West Bank, “just like Tahrir Square.” He adds that the Palestinian “leadership has shied away from this idea because they can’t control it,” and they are “afraid of being replaced.”

This idiotic reasoning that somehow only women would participate and things would stay peaceful is obviously absurd. As Mr. Pickering himself notes, “Palestinian men will not for long patiently demonstrate—they will be inclined over time and much too soon to be frustrated and use force. Their male culture comes close to requiring it.” Regardless, Mr. Pickering writes that the protests could be used against Israel “to influence the political leadership.”

The idea was as dangerous for the Palestinians as it was for Israel. As Mr. Pickering admits, widespread protests could overthrow Abbas’ government, and if Palestinian men joined in, widespread violence would inevitably break out. It would obviously be impossible to prevent men from participating in these demonstrations, yet Mr. Pickering felt this extreme risk was worth taking, even if it meant the replacement of Abbas with another Hamas-styled government—even if it meant violence breaking out across the West Bank, leading to a third intifada and the murder of countless Jews. He emphasized the need to hide all U.S. involvement in this plot. Ms. Clinton forwarded the email to Monica Hanley and asked her to “pls print.”

Clandestinely stirring up potentially violent protests in an attempt to force Israel to go against its best interests? Advice like this was par for the course when it came to Ms. Clinton’s advisers.

In a follow-up column we’ll illuminate even more anti-Israel advice that was given the then-Secretary of State. Sadly, there is just so much of it.

Hillarys andre-man är Hamaskramare.

Hillarys val av en terroristälskare som närmaste man - vad säger det dej?

Tim Kaine’s Long, Deep Relationship With Radical Islam

We all know that Democrats have some pretty nefarious political connections … but for Heaven’s sake, why did Hillary have to pick someone with such deep Islamist connections as Tim aine?
The Virginia senator has a long history of embracing radical Islam.
He appointed a Hamas supporter to a state immigration commission, once spoke at a dinner honoring a Muslim Brotherhood terrorist suspect and has received many donations from well-known Islamist groups.
Back in 2007, Breitbart reports, then-Governor Kaine chose Muslim American Society (MAS) President Esam Omeish to the state’s Immigration Commission. It was an appointment so controversial that even a Muslim group against radical Islam criticized the appointment and lack of vetting.
In 2008, federal court filings found that MAS was “founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.”
According to Omeish’s website, he was also President of the National Muslim Students Association and served for two years on the national board of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which the Justice Department also labeled as a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity and unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas-financing trial.
His website says he was Vice President of Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center, a radical mosque known for its history of terror ties including having future Al-Qaeda operative Anwar Al-Awlaki as its imam and being frequented by two of the 9/11 hijackers and the perpetrator of the Fort Hood shooting. Omeish’s website says he remains a board member.
Omeish directly expressed extremism before Kaine appointed him. He claimed the Brotherhood is “moderate” and admitted that he and MAS are influenced by the Islamist movement. In 2004, Omeish praised the Hamas spiritual leader as “our beloved Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.” Videotape from 2000 also surfaced where Omeish pledged to help Palestinians who understand “the jihad way is the way to liberate your land” (he denied this was an endorsement of violence).
In the second example of Kaine’s deep connections with Radical Islam, he spoke at a 2011 dinner honoring Jamal Barzinji, the “Founding father of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood.”
Barzinji has been on the FBI’s radar since 1987, when an informant told them that Barzinji was part of a network of brotherhood fronts to “institute the Islamic Revolution in the United States.”
Barzinji played a major role in nearly every Brotherhood front in the U.S. and was vice president of the International Institute of Islamic Thought, which came under terrorism investigation also. Barzinji’s group was so close to Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative Sami Al-Arian that IIIT’s President considered his group and Al-Arian’s to be essentially one entity.
Finally there’s the money … Barzinji’s organization, IIIT, donated $10,000 to an organization, New Dominion PAC, that gave $43,050 to Kaine’s bid for governor between
